OUR PHILOSOPHY IS SIMPLE

Slow down, and tune in.

Quick fix culture has a lot to answer to.

Let’s face it. The pace of our world, and our lives is constantly forcing us into disconnection.

We live in a world of quick fixes. Convenience culture means we get food in a quick uber delivery and entertainment on demand. So it’s no surprise we want the same from our own life.

But deep down, we all know that healing and change never comes easy, especially if we don’t have a functional base line to begin from.

What is somatics?

Somatic practice is a little different because we take a bottom-up approach to care.

Instead of asking what happened to you, we’ll ask what’s happening in your body in response to what happened to you.

We’ll look at your functional base line, and assess the current state of your nervous system together.

Then we’ll get to work (and it will be work) with consistent practices to begin to shift toward something new, perhaps a greater capacity for joy, resiliency or calm.

It’s something a lot of us aren’t used to - asking ourselves what we need - so it might feel icky or uncomfortable at first as you begin to tune in.

You will always have complete agency in session. I’ll be holding space for you to do the work you need, at the pace that works for your body.

My training is grounded in somatics; pairing the ancient wisdom of movement and breath practices from the yogic traditions with modern science through integrated somatic therapy and EMDR-informed techniques.

The goal? A more resilient nervous system.

This means being able to tune into how your body responds to stress and triggers, and creating strategies to enable you to bring yourself back into connection.

It’s going to be work, but not the tedious spreadsheet kind.

Learn to tune into how your body responds to stress and triggers, and establish strategies to bring yourself back into connection.

Small Group Workshops

It’s nice to meet you.

I am a somatic practitioner, coach, yoga teacher, nature lover, communications specialist and proud primary ethics teacher. I have a deep passion for helping people tune into their body from within so they can connect with themselves, learn to listen to the signals of their body and rewire patterns of dysregulation.

I spent the first 30 years of my life stuck in fight or flight, with a steady cascade of symptoms begging me to stop and pay attention. Through yoga, I discovered somatic work, and over time, learned to listen to my body and began reshape how I respond to stress. I know the value in this work first hand. But I also know my story isn’t yours. I’d love to you to begin the listening process and develop strategies and practices that work for you.

Love notes from past clients

  • "A truely nourishing experience"

“Karina’s workshop is a truly nourishing experience. It was the perfect pause for some guided self reflection and to escape from life’s busy-ness, with the right mix of science, mindfulness, practical application and calmness. It was a safe environment, it felt very real and honest and Karina held the space in the room for everyone. I look forward to my next workshop and of course putting what I learnt into practice day-to-day.”

  • "I learned so much I've already applied"

“I loved that it was a small group of amazing humans, and learned so much that I have already applied on the stress response and the physiological impact that it has on the body. I loved the breathing and meditation exercises and learning the practical tools that I can apply to manage stress before it leads to me needing regular massages or getting tension headaches. Thank you Karina for offering this. I only wish they would teach this in schools and have already started applying this with my own children.”

  • "Karina's gentleness and openness was so healing"

"What a beautiful workshop. Karina's gentleness and openness was so healing. The course content, exercises and a bonus mediation was so helpful in understanding how our bodies react to stress and how we can calm it down again. I now have the tools to implement this into daily life. Totally recommend for all."
